Howdy,

I'm keen to start up a cycling group for Gay and Lesbian road cyclists. A club for mountain or trail biking around Melbourne already exists, but not one for road cycling, as far as I know (if there is one please let me know!)

I'm a 30 year old gay male, been cycling for about 6 months now, and although I don't like my sexuality to necessarily define who I am or who I socialise with, I thought it'd be nice (at least on occasion) to have a group of people who enjoy riding (particularly road cycling) that could get together, enjoy eachothers company, and be able to relate to eachother on a social level as well.

To be able to challenge eachother on the riding front would be great also, and maybe take some 3, 4 or even 5 hour rides, as well as shorter rides.. I'm up for anything!

Maybe if we could meet at a central location, in or not far from the CBD, then take it from there, that'd be great. Of course coffee/breakfast/brunch stops could be incorporated!

We are a bike club for the gay and lesbian community of Melbourne and open to all. Whether you are a once a year rider or a weekend warrior who likes to hit the trails and tracks in or around Melbourne we have a ride for you.

Our rides are mostly away from busy roads and are either on bike paths, rail-trails or dirt tracks in the hills around town.

If any of this appeals to you contact us and we will soon have you riding your bike in places that perhaps you never knew existed.

Sydney Spokes are a bunch of people who love cycling and happen to be gay or lesbian. Most weekends you can join one of our rides led by a friendly experienced ride leader. You will meet and ride with other gay and lesbian cyclists pleased to have you join Sydney Spokes.
